------AquaGreen: Committed to protection, sustaining the environment

Since 2023, the long-standing model of socially responsible investing has fully materialized into three core dimensions—E (Environmental), S (Social), and G (Governance)—shaping a promising vision that integrates sustainability into corporate blueprints.

However, skepticism surrounding ESG has never ceased. Particularly regarding the "E" (Environmental) aspect, some companies have faced heavy public backlash and accusations of using an "environmental halo" to whitewash policy loopholes that run counter to sustainable development. Hydroponic farming is right at the top of this criticized list, with critics alleging that its transportation and cultivation processes inflict significant damage on the environment.

So...

Is hydroponics really just using ESG as a smokescreen to attract customers

 NO!

High Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Transportation

Some companies are accused of using ESG to mask the actual environmental damage caused by their transport logistics.

AquaGreen avoids high-emission air freight and utilizes low-carbon transportation methods.

Plastic Packaging Named a Major Source of Pollution

Hydroponics is often criticized, with skeptics questioning whether the plastic bags used are difficult to decompose.

AquaGreen uses recyclable packaging and actively encourages customers to recycle.

Squeezing Out Smallholder Farmers

Hydroponic companies are accused of creating intense price competition for traditional farming models, while shorter growth cycles could threaten farmers' livelihoods.

AquaGreen collaborates with local farmers for mutual benefit while cultivating and producing premium quality vegetables.

1.AquaGreen eliminates the need of high carbon transport

Our production base in Yunnan is less than 1,500 kilometers away from Bangkok. By utilizing cold-chain land transport for the entire journey, we drastically reduce our carbon footprint. Furthermore, our farm locations are meticulously calculated based on altitude, latitude, and longitude, combining the most suitable terrain with advanced technology to optimize environmental costs.

2.AquaGreent tackles the problem from its root

Through corporate partnerships, we have introduced PLA biodegradable packaging boxes and vegetable bags made from plants. We have also successfully lowered transportation carbon emissions by eliminating unnecessary packaging. This packaging fully degrades within 180 days. Additionally, we are committed to increasing the use of cardboard packaging and actively promoting in-store recycling stations.

3.AquaGreen supports global friendly sourcing

We work shoulder-to-shoulder with local farmers to bring their products into fair trade or premium regenerative markets, co-branding their goods by sharing the story of the primary industry. This not only elevates the economic well-being of local communities but also provides consumers with a stable, reassuring supply of premium vegetables backed by international food safety certifications. Furthermore, the non-GMO seeds used by AquaGreen effectively maintain biodiversity and support ecological balance.

AquaGreen has always maintained a steadfast commitment to ESG, implementing related policies with a pragmatic attitude. We look forward to working hand-in-hand with our customers to live up to our company motto: “Plant the seed for a better future.”
